After-School Tutoring Program - Palacios
Monday thru Friday during the school year from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Library staff, volunteers, and four High School Honor Students help students with homework. Students also have access to computers for typing papers, Powerpoint program for presentations and Internet for research. After homework is completed each student is allowed time on the computer to play educational games or browse the Internet.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during the school year from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Library staff and volunteers help students with homework. After homework is completed each student is allowed time on the computers to play educational games.  

Pre-School Story Hour - Palacios
Every Tuesday during the school year from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The children are read a story by a library staff member or volunteer. After the story the children do a craft and are given time on the computer to play educational games.

Texas Reading Club Program - Palacios
During the month of July, Kindergarten thru 3rd grade on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and fourth thru sixth grade on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Each day the groups are read a book by a volunteer. The volunteer then gives them a craft project to do. When craft projects are done, refreshments are served.

Texas Reading Club Program - Blessing
Will be held during the month of July, contact library for time. Kindergarten thru 6th grade students are read a book by a library staff member or volunteer. Afterwards the student enjoy doing a craft project and refreshments. This years theme is Color you world...Read!

Winners Circle Reading Program - Palacios & Blessing
This program will be held during June and July, sponsored by the Friends of the Palacios Library. Children are to read a book from an approved list and write a book report on it. An incentive party is held every two weeks, and if they turn in four book reports by the end of July, they are eligible for a field trip with lunch included.

Friends of the Library annual fundraiser
Saturday October 21st, 2006 at the Palacios Recreation Center. This years event is something new. Wine, beer, water and soda's are available for purchase. Tickets and tables must be reserved and paid for at least two weeks in advance. Entertainment will be provided by the Coastalaires. Annual Open Meeting
A week night in August. Check the newspaper or call the library for which date in August. Begins at 6 p.m. with refreshment by the Friends of the Palacios Library. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited.
